 Joe bought a TV with a size of 50 inches and an aspect ratio of 21:9  What is the width and height of the TV?

    Wrong category. You want trigonometry.

    That is too broad a question, as different TVs (even if the same screen size), may have a different total TV size

    That is not a TV with that screen ratio.  It may be a monitor.

    This sounds like polar coordinates, but you need the angle, theta.

    It should be the inverse tangent of (9/21).

    The sine and cosine of theta should let you calculate the width and height.

    i think this is a math problem .....

    the diagonal of 21x9 equals 22.85

    21 x50 / 22.85 =45.85in ....

    9x 50/22.85 = 19.69in

    note: the standard aspect ratio is 4:3
