The term CEO, on the other hand, is all about the position of the person in the current hierarchy of the organization. The founders will always be the organization's founders.

Founder is just one of the people who came together and started the business.  Founder can be anyone from someone who pitches in to help the business with a few hours a month of work to someone who works 24/7.

CEO is the most senior day-to-day decisionmaker in the business (but who reports to the board of directors).

A founder and a CEO can be the same person in some companies.

Founder is the establisher of the firm/company and the CEO is the designation. A founder can be a CEO, Managing Director, Board Member, Director etc.

A founder is someone who started the business.  A CEO is someone who runs it now.
