Why on earth would the Red Sox trade Mookie Betts? Who did they get in return. Are they a better team without him? What gives?

    Because they knew they were not willing or probably able to pay what he would be asking and remain competitive or be financially viable.

    I don't know.  Almost nothing.  Of course not.  He's a higher BA-hitting Rickey Henderson playing RF.
