Why do energy drinks exist in the first place even if they're unhealthy with a ton of sugar and caffeine?

Many other things are unhealthy. Alcohol and nicotine are far worse than energy drinks.

Because moronic millenials get suckered into buying them and the companies make a fortune!

Because not all drinks are healthy, just like food.

Because there is a market for them. If people didn't want them they wouldn't be made.

Because it is profitable and as of yet we don't have The Health Police to deal with, nor will we ever.....

Contrary to your *opinion*, energy drinks are not unhealthy.

Sugar is not unhealthy.  Caffeine is not unhealthy.

Alcohol is not unhealthy.  Smoking is not unhealthy.

Why does alcohol exist? It's literally a poison. People get drunk, think they're invincible but prove they're not with thousands of drunk driving deaths happening every year. Domestic abuse goes hand in hand with those idiots who use it as courage juice. Alcoholics anonymous has been around for decades but has done nothing to stem the problem.

Why? Because it's insanely popular with kids who get "drunk" from it preparing them for the real stuff. Thankfully that popularity is waning but whether it's good or bad means nothing to the manufacturer. They only care if it's profitable.

For people who have to, or want to stay up late.  I imagine they're great for truck drivers.
