A proton initially at rest is accelerated between parallel plates of distance 1cm. along a uniform electric field of 356 N/C. What is the maximum speed attained by proton?

    q*E*d = KE = ½mv²

    1.6e-19C * 356V/m * 0.01m = ½ * 1.67e-27kg * v²

    v = 2.6e4 m/s (26 km/s)
