Can a person regain conciousness on their own?

There have been a number of stories, where people were in situations were they lost conciousness. But then they talk about regaining it by themselfs in a hospital or while alone. So are these stories even true, and if they are, how is this possible?

Yes, it happens ALL the time.  After all, you're not dead or in most cases even brain-dead. In fact if you pass out at home, the mere fact that your head is at the same level as the rest of your body will restore adequate blood flow to the brain.
