Trump was not a Republican before 2016, and doesn't personal believe in the principles of the Republican party. They read through his manipulation and game and also believe he is a danger to the country. 489 former Generals, Admirals, and national security administration officials support Biden. Largest page in wiki is Biden endorsements. Scientific American Magazine and New England Journal of Medicine have never endorsed a candidate for office until now, and are anyone but Trumpers. Even Judge Judy in 2016 thought Trump would be a good President if he toned down his rhetoric, but in 2020 endorsed Bloomberg and when he dropped out, Biden. Trump was nothing like she expected him to be. Four years of cheating, lies, and deceit are too much even for Party. George W Bush does NOT endorse Trump. Anyone with any self-esteem cannot back Trump, but many are drawn to their tax cuts regardless of National Debt, White Nationalism, and Xenophobia that Trump touts.

The appointment of Amy Barrett pushes the Democrat Party to pack the courts if they win control of Executive and Congress. Nobody actually wants to do it, but they leave no alternative after the Senate quashed Merrick Garland in 2016 based on NO APPOINTMENTS IN A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION YEAR regardless of political party, stated over and over again, to let the people vote.

They now made SCOTUS a political entity.

Add - In the update, Bush said he left 2016 blank and cannot endorse Biden either. But Ted Cruz campaign communication director, Jeff Flake, Colin Powell and many Republican past leaders endorse Biden.

Trumpism splintered f/ GOP ideology w/ his chronic disconnect f/ truth/accuracy, his unprecedented narcissism/nepotism, his ineptitude in administration, his messages of hate etc. ... basically, his overall horrible character and incompetence. It's really hard to know what the party stands for now.
