Why is a cut down lever action rifle so illegal if  there are more deadlier and modern firearms that are legal to carry?

Its illegal because laws are less strict for buying a rifle than a pistol.  "Cutting down' is an illegal modification for a rifle. (unless you pay $200 and legally convert it to a pistol on NFA Form 1)

But worry not!!!!!  You can simply buy a cut down down lever action rifle - they are sold all over the US as 'pistols'.  Both Marlin and Henry offer them in a ton of different calibers.  I believe Rossi does too.  They are affordable too.

It is illegal to convert any rifle into a pistol.   They do not care about how lethal it is.

Rifles with a barrel less than 16 inches long and guns with an overall length of 26 inches long is a legal due to reasons. It doesn’t make sense but most the people that write up these laws know nothing about guns, hate gun ownership, want all guns banned and confiscated by force and want all gun owners exterminated.

And why do you think that politicians make gun laws that make any sense?

Contact the BATF and ask those idiots why they think they can create laws.
