Why did I feel sensitivity during drilling for a bottom molar filling? ?

I was getting a filling for an old bottom molar filling that came off. During the drilling which wasn’t very much because I didn’t have a cavity. I felt sensitivity while the Dentist was drilling. I had a break, but she mention, tissue was growing around the area since it was left unfilled for about a month so she put extra numbing around the area and it wasn’t as bad.

This was a bottom molar side filling.

Is it normal or not unusual? I have had fillings in the past. Some are sensitive during the process and some none at all.

It happens to some of us and it does happen to me - last time I got a filling I had to have 5 jabs to numb the area
