Getting proof of mailed child support?

How do you get proof you mailed a child support check? My husband's ex wants his rights to their son taken away so she is claiming that she's not getting child support checks when I mail them out every week to her correct address. It's not our fault she isn't cashing them.

You seriously believe she's getting the checks and not cashing them?

The answer to your question is that you bring them to the post office and pay a few cents extra for them to give you proof of mailing.  However, a better idea might be paying a few dollars extra to get proof of delivery or even signature confirmation.

If you need proof, you DON'T send a check. You set up payments THROUGH the Child Support Enforcement Agency.

If you mail ANY check you want to document, you buy a CASHIER'S check from a bank, send it CERTIFIED MAIL, Return Receipt requested, and keep the both receipts.

    Send them with delivery confirmation.

The post office has forms to get a receipt for delivery of mail sent. That should be reasonable evidence to show she is receiving them but not cashing them.

Most states allow the noncustodial parent to pay through child support enforcement, which fixes this horrible, horrible problem.

The cashed checks will be on his bank statement.

Send the check by registered mail or if possible transfer the funds on line.

Not sure this can be proved. Suggest you start transferring the money digitally so there'll be a record of it.
