# find a fraction between 5/8 and 7/8 I answered 6/8?

is that correct?

Relevance

It's technically correct but you should reduce the fraction to 3/4.

That's the fraction that is *exactly* halfway between which you can find by taking the average of the two fractions:

(5/8 + 7/8) / 2

= (12/8) / 2

= (3/2) / 2

= 3/4

• Yeah, anything between 5/8 and 7/8 is correct. Lol

• That is correct.

• When generating a Farey series, (see link), we find that

(a + c)/(b + d) is always between a/b and c/d

One of the many fractions between 5/8 and 7/8 is 12/16 = 3/4

• 6/8 or 3/4 is correct.

there are an infinite number of answers.

13/16 is one, as is 11/16

or 51234/80000 if you want an answer that no one else will use
