What kind of sin was Yeshua talking about in Mathew 5:27-30 when he said if your right hand causes you to sin? Was it onanism?
Matthew 5:27-30. In this paragraph specifically about adultery, "If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."

WHEN JESUS SAID TO GET RID OF YOUR HAND OR YOUR EYE he was speaking figuratively.

Any sin that posseses you.
And it is difficult tfor any to now commit the sin of Onan since that can only be done under Jewish law which has been replaced by their sewcularism.
Why be so ignorant?

He was speaking PURELY hypothetically.
In fact (as his audience would have known and/or believed)
your hand does NOT cause you to sin
nor does your eye.
The point Jesus was trying to make seems obvious to me, but is certainly not obvious to all.
The point is this:
IF there is something in your life that incites you to commit sin
no matter how precious that something is to you
even if it is as precious as your own right eye,
even if it is as precious as your own right hand
you need to cut that thing out of your life
rather than keep that precious thing in your life and end up in Hell as a result.

No, he had no specific sin in mind. It was a generic term. But of course that is hyperbole intended to underscore a point.

It refers to any and every sin.

If people followed that horrible advice, 98% or more of men would have no right eyes or hands.
