What are some of the cheapest new cars i can buy that are pretty reliable?

I don't think i have the patience to look for a used car.  What are some of the cheapest options that will be pretty reliable to get me from point A to Point B?

Don't know if available in your market, but in the US the Kia Soul is the new Beetle.  Highly reliable,  good in safety tests for their size,  high miles-per-gallon,  fun to drive - - - and cute.  Also highly rated by testing/rating sources.

The cheapest new reliable options are the Toyota Aygo and its mechanically-identical sisters the Peugeot 108 and Citroën C1 (all three have a Toyota engine, and are built in a Toyota factory in the Czech Republic), the Hyundai i10 and the Kia Picanto. If you are buying on finance, there have been some spectacular offers recently on the 108.

In the UK the Dacia Sandero is incredibly cheap. It has no whistles and bells but as it's a Renault underneath means it will be reliable. See review and bear in mind the author is used to more expensive cars.
