Can I leave my dahlia tubers in the ground? Read details ?

I am going to treat my dahlia tubers as annuals. Overwintering just seems to not work. I live in zone 5 and was wondering if the tubers and roots will decompose in the raised bed and just plant new tubers in the same spot next year thanks.

As long as the tubers themselves do not freeze then leaving them in the ground over winter will be fine.

Only you can say whether or not the ground usually freezes to the depth the tubers are situated.

Yes you can! However it would pay to put a thick mulch of chipped bark as frost prevention.
