Some were already in Russia during the years of the Roman Empire, but a huge number of Jews were invited into Russia by empress Catherine the Great in the late 18th and early 19th century because she thought they would help Russia grow a mercantile society and a solid middle class. (Most anti-Semites do not know this.)

Yes, during the time of the Second world war, when the German Jews ran away from Hitler , a Catholic , to Join with the Allied of Soviet Russia , Britain, France and USA ,to finish off the Christians in Germany.
