Superposition and thevenins theorem comparison?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of these methods in solving for currents in a simple two loop circuit?

    I don't like using loops because it is hard to get an intuition about an outcome that relies on solving simultaneous equations. I also don't like solving simultaneous equations. And it pains me that inevitably, some of the voltages are in the opposite direction to their arrows (ie they come out negative).

      

    By contrast, combining resistors that are in series or parallel and getting the center voltage of a potential divider can all be done step by step with a degree of intuition about the approximate outcome. And you can usually use the directions of current and voltage as they actually are thus really "see" how the circuit works.
