Lawn mower engine?

Lawn mower has no spark. Bought a new spark plug still has no spark. What do I check next?

As the flywheel turns, a magnet goes past a coil to induce a voltage and create the spark. To stop the engine, the OFF position of the throttle control moves a lever that puts a short circuit on the high voltage lead. Check for a maladjustment. More than likely, the lever (shorting switch) is stuck in the closed position killing the spark. Alternately,  there could be a break in the high voltage wire going to the coil. Or, the coil itself could have gone open. Check the wire and coil with an Ohm Meter. Replace if necessary. Go on YouTube and watch videos on how to troubleshoot and repair lawn mowers. Search on your make & model to find parts.

It must be out of gas, so don't be so cheap and buy at least one gallon of gas.

Take to a small engine mechanic.  They figure it out SO FAST (your eyes will teer) That fast.

Either bad plug wire, bad coil, bad magneto, bad condenser, sheared flywheel key, especially if you hit something wheel mowing.

Probably the ignition coil is bad and needs replacement.
