How did the prisoners in concentration and transit camps find their families after the holocaust?

    United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration was formed to reunite and rehome Displaced Persons.

    There was the Red Cross who had Lists of Survivors and many went Home

    in Fact many Jews went back to their own Homes

    The main people they turned to was the Red Cross organization who ran a family finding operation after the war.  Others put up notices in the area they came from hoping their relatives would also come back to where their home had been so they could find each other.

    There were many groups set up to help them do that, but it took some several years to find their families and friends.  Most never did find them, as they'd been murdered.

    There were organisations like the red cross that found lost souls
