Blood pressure reading?

Last night my blood pressure was 140/80, today my blood pressure was 121/100. Why would the systolic number drop but the diastolic number go up?

Measuring blood pressure is a dynamic operation. You need to be as relaxed as possible and take 2 or 3 readings throughout the day for about 3 days and then average them to get an accurate picture.  Less stress will lower both readings. Perhaps there is something complicated going on with higher than normal cardiac output or impaired vasodilation? Advice on here is at best anecdotal, so if worried, you need to talk to your doctor or nurse practitioner about this and give them an accurate BP average.

You need to take  number of readings over a few minutes to get an average.

If you are cold or otherwise stressed the diastolic number can go up.
