Have the USB connector replaced. 

It will cost a lot less than a new unit.

What do you do with it?  Just e-mail and surfing?  Something you can find for $300-400 should work.

Do you plan on playing games with it?  You'll want to spend more for a better CPU, GPU, and RAM.
