Is it okay to download a 32 bit program on a 64 bit operating system?
What if the program only comes in 32 bit?

32-bit programs can run on a 64-bit system, but 64-bit programs will not run on a 32-bit system. While it is possible to install a 32-bit operating system on a 64-bit system, it is best to install a 64-bit version if possible.

No problem as long as the OS has 32 bit compatibility, windows does and as far as I knpow pretty much all linux distros do too. Very much older 16 bit programs are where you generally have issues.

yes it should run , windows 10 is compatable with most 64 and 32 bit software . its just 64 bit will run smoother and faster . its is designed for 64 bits .

if your using windows then yes it will be fine, no problem - I have a windows 7, 64 bit operating system and some of my programs are 32 bit and they work fine
on the other hand if your using a mac - well thats another matter

Modern 64-bit versions of Windows will run 32-bit programs just fine. They'll typically run identical to how they would on a 32-bit system.
Mac is a bit more tricky. Versions of MacOS version 10.14 (Mojave) and older can run 32-bit applications. From Catalina onward, 32-bit support is removed and therefore those apps will NOT run.

A 32-bit program will run just fine on a 64-bit OS. It won't run as fast as a 64-bit program, but you might not notice the difference.
