The right says the Crusaders were the good guys, but the left says they weren't and Muslims were the good guys so who is right or wrong here?

Well, if you think rape and murder are bad, then the Crusaders were very bad guys. They raped and murdered eastern Christians, by the way, not just Muslims. They raped and murded Jews, too, both in the West and the East.

Muslims were invading and destroying Europe. The Crusaders drove them back. Therefore the Crusaders were the good guys. They saved Europe from the evils of Islam.

The crusades were Satans military campaigns devised to eliminate all his competition, Muslims, Jews and Christians alike. He damn well nearly succeeded until the Lord stepped in.
Its known today as catholicism. Jesus called that assembly the synagogue of Satan, and identified Rome as the seat (capital) of Satan's earthly empire in competition with God for the souls of mankind.
Revelation gives various time markers so we can know Gods timeline of prophetic events. The seven thunders were the first seven crusades.

Neither were "the good guys". The Muslims had set themselves up to be hated and the Crusaders took the bait.
Europe became Christian and then waged ‘white’ Holy Wars called ‘the crusades’ for a thousand years until success was finally achieved when a British army, led by General Allenby, defeated the Ottoman Islamic Empire’s army and triumphantly entered Jerusalem in 1917. Allenby then declared “today the crusades have ended”. In fact the crusades will not end so long as Muslims resist oppression in the Holy Land. The Last War, Gogs and Magogs of the World Government, the Russian Conquest of the Constantinoplehttp://www.4pt.su/en/content/last-war-gogs-and-mag...

Invaders are rarely the good guys.

Neither were right. The Crusades were some 900-odd years ago. By today's standards both sides did terrible things and committed many crimes against humanity. Not to mention it was a war based solely on religion - aka - nonsense.
