Growing up, eh?  OK, I was born in '56, so we're talking mid to late 60's.  I'm going to throw out the Saturday morning cartoons and just consider regular TV shows.

It would have to be a toss up between Green Acres and the original Star Trek.

Besides things like Looney Tunes and other classic cartoons?  Gilligan's Island, Batman, The Brady Bunch, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Star Trek, The Beverley Hillbillies, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Get Smart.

When I was a kid, 1940s and -50s, we only had two channels: WSPD from Toledo and WIMA from Lima.  And all the transmissions were over the air by antennas.  And of course everything, all the programs, were live and in black and white.  There was no such thing as a taped show or color.

I think my favorite show back then was "The Howdy Doody Show."  Howdy was  a marionette and the live actor was called Uncle Bob (I think, it was a few years ago).
