Mice detterents?

Do sonic sound plug in devices really work? So many mixed reviews and they are expensive,  so l don't know if l should buy one.

They may work, but they attract roaches. Mice can be run off by strong smells. Get some cheap dryer sheets and toss them where you think the mice are. I ball them up and toss them into closets, storage areas, even kitchen cabinets. You can even get some peppermint extract and put a few drops on the dryer sheets. The smell will drive the mice away.

Well I don't know about Sonic devices but I have no problems with mice or rats because my cat takes care of it.
