Many garages out in your area will KNOW WHERE YOU HAVE TO GO TO for that.  So ask them.

HPI checks ..but if you have seen the car ..check the V5 ..it will tell if its a cat car .....and no V5  no buy ..but never buy a write off ..sound stupid but they do not need to be tested to be back on road ...big VOSA  mistake

HPI check online will tell you whether the car has ever been written off or on the stolen register. You will have to pay for the service.
