Is it more likely that a psychiatrist would check Vitamin D for a Bipolar person then a regular doctor?

It's just so odd, my regular doctor drew 10 tubes of blood last time I saw her, and my psychiatrist told me to get a Vitamin D test and that it's low. She said it will help my mood to take a supplement for it. But I wonder if the regular doctor was afraid I was going to stop taking my meds? What are your thoughts?
