All of the following mutations would benefit humans EXCEPT:

    a.     A mutation that provides some degree of protection against malaria.

    b.     A mutation that allows bacteria to develop resistance to antibiotics.

    c.     A mutation that allows a potato to store more starch in it.

    d.     A mutation that allows you to produce the enzyme lactase later on in life.

    Except this one:

    b.     A mutation that allows bacteria to develop resistance to antibiotics.

    We use antibiotics to treat certain bacterial illnesses in humans.  Bacterial genes get around.  A new antibiotic-resistant strain of a human pathogen could leave us with fewer treatment options.
