What is the primary reason countries go to war?

There have been 1763 wars from 8000 BC to 2000 AD.
93% of them were secular/government related; 7% were religious (roughly half Islam half Christian).In the majority, secular wars, you’ll find causes such as territorial or economic gains as common forces.Revolutions are another cause.Sometimes it is a nation acting in defense of one of these factors.There’s never one simple reason.
