Why is my computer so slow?

I have an iMac Mid 2007 24 inch and its really slow. its my main computer at my grandmas house and it takes minutes to open apps and to do my homework

It is probably full of stale "cookies".
Use CCleaner or something similar and see if it does any good.

Maybe you are close to having your hard drive being full and it is struggling to find stuff.
