Can I be a large animal vet if I am small??

I am about 5’4” and 130 lbs can I become a large animal veterinarian???

Yes. You will have assistants and they do not have to be physically strong. A tranquilizer can sedate a large animal while you work on it. In many cases the animal you work on are tame and the procedure is painless so you may not even need to use a tranquilizer. Elephants, for example, can be trained to submit to routine physical exams.

Get a strong assistant to help you. Most of the time you can rely on restraints if they are needed. It also helps if you are smarter than your patients.
