Those who work in a physically demanding and low paid job would see things differently to those who spend hours shuffling their emails or finding ways to look busy while achieving little.

Where are the jobs with these hours? I used to work 39 hours, but lost so many due to cancelled contracts re Covid

A long time ago we were promised full employment with everyone having more leisure time. That still sounds like a good idea and answers more issues than it creates.

The more hours workers spend together the more the virus is transmitted to other people who will take it home to their families, so 42 hours split into shorter shifts with less people is preferable which allows for improved social distancing regimes in the workplace.

We need to increase productivity, not work rate, you can run really fast on a treadmill but you're not getting anywhere, this is Torynomics and it's bankrupting us, people are far more efficient working less hours
