Young people often cannot get loans. Most adults with good credit and good jobs finance cars.

Every car I ever bought in the past 48 years was with cash. I never financed a car.
But I think that most people finance a NEW car.

To be honest I don't know about 'most' people, but I always pay up front, as it usually gets me a better deal.

In the UK, most cars are bought on some form of finance with 'personal contract plans' currently being very popular. It's a kind of rental with the option to buy after (typically) 3 years or a defined number of miles.
