Is there anything I can take to prevent pain during working out?

Don't do what hurts!
Only muscle pain is okay to somewhat ignore.

They say no pain, no gain, but if its bad enough that its interfering with your workout, youre either pushing yourself way too hard, or doing something wrong. Whatever your goal is, you should be starting out slow and gradually building up duration and intensity

Yes. You are doing too much too soon. Work up slowly. Your muscles need time to tone up.
