Yes, but not the stuff you buy in a store-that has been sterilized. You need to pick one up that has fallen from a tree to sprout a new tree.

Yes they do BUT if you bought the nuts in a store like for Xmas. Those nuts have been "put to sleep" in storage so they do not rot or sprout. You need to pick the nuts off an oak tree when they are ripe. Those have not been processed yet. Mind you it never stops me from trying anyways as I try green, red, orange, yellow sweet peppers and other seeds. If it happens, it happens. If not it just gets moldy. In high school we put bean seeds between wetted paper towels to watch how a bean grows(Biology)
