Light in terms of what?  Power? or weight?

As far as weight, it would simply be a lighter gauge or lighter caliber handgun -- smaller bore, less metal, and therfore, less weight

L"Light" in terms of power  -- anything 20 gauge and smaller for a shotgun.  For a handgun, .32 ACP, .380 ACP, .38 Special

It would be a shotgun that is lighter than standard weight.  Most of the lower caliber handguns would be considered light and most carbine rifles would be considered light.
