He's going to have to set bigger, farther goals. When Earth becomes uninhabitable a terraformed Mars won't be far behind.

No, he isn't going to succeed in even getting there.

YES---If we don't become Socialist, which would essentially STOP advanced Tech progress---Due to a bad economy and restrictions on free thought and private industry.

Total Recall...   anything is possible... it would take a great deal of time for the Atmosphere to clear enough for breathing...  anything is possible...

Even Elon Musk can not say anything beyond his capability of the extension to live long life on this earth and elsewhere.

    I doubt it very much.

The surface of Mars has been subjected to,

and saturated by, radiation from the Sun and from space.

Creating an atmosphere on Mars will trap and hold in all of that radiation, making the entire planet an uninhabitable place to be.

    Nope.

And what's with Mars? Maybe if you are praying to Musk to make something habitable, then pray to him to keep the Earth habitable instead of further wrecking the planet with the frivolous energy hungry "technology" he keeps pushing in our face, and which we never needed before, yet for some inexplicable reason is all of a sudden a "must have". He is obviously a proponent of the reverse-Robin-Hood principle.

    Two problems with Mars:

    1. Not enough gravity to hold an atmosphere.

    2. No magnetic field to hold the atmosphere and protect humans from radiation.

They will need to basically live underground in an artificial environment. Not impossible but difficult and very dangerous.
