I think single men consume a lot of alcohol due to the fact that they are not in a relationship where they are receiving regular sex so alcohol tends to take the edge off.

I imagine the answer 'no' since living alone with drunkness kinda shows you firsthand everything wrong with it.

20 years as a single adult, 35 years happily married....
I haven't seen any "studies," but I rarely drank alcohol when I was single.
Married, With Children, I drink at least 10 times more alcohol. Mainly because I am cooking, enjoying my food, enjoying a beer or wine with dinner.

Yea I drink by myself every day. I am an alcoholic. I go through a big bottle of vodka in 3 or 4 days. Cheap vodka too. At least I admit it. I know it’s unattractive but it runs heavy in my family to be an addict or alcoholic. Also have had a rough life. I can say any relationship I have had while drinking usually doesn’t go well.
