It would not make a difference for I would not depend upon them for my survival. Neither probably have any survival skills.

I see where you are going with this !  Bear in mind that priests in Victorian times

were botanists and highly respected naturalists, with a deep understanding

of the natural World many of the early books on scientific subjects were written by Priests and their knowledge was considerable.

A scientist would probably be of more help in survival skills.  Listening to a priest babble about his superstitious nonsense wouldn't help anyone.

Why choose?

Several of my university professors were priests of one sort or another

including two of my physics professors.

If I HAD to choose, I'd say a scientist as he/she might be able to come up with ideas and things to help ease such an exile.

However, having anyone with you would be better than having no one.

That's like smart versus stupid.  I would choose a scientist because he would be a better lover.

Oh definitely a scientist  , specifically an astronomer so at night we could look at the universe above and they can answer my many questions on that amazing topic .
