in 2024 how do we stop mail in ballots being sent to families with lots of dead relatives, they are probably just writing gramps and grammie?

name, hell lets add uncle Bob, Aunt Sarah and cousin Tim poor guy lost to leuchemia but at least he will vote for Biden. Liberals can be sickening

Update:

KAG: that sounds pretty good but with record number of mail in ballots, I wonder if 24 hours is even enough time to account for them all, and what if thousands are still in the mail but the system is too backed up to arrive on time? It seems like a lot more needs to be figure out before those measures would be fair to everyone, maybe beefing up USPS?

The only evidence of a dead person voting that has been unearthed was unearthed in Nevada. It was a man who voted for Trump and used the mail-in ballot of his recently deceased mother to also vote for Trump.

There has been no evidence of wide-scale voter fraud that would change the outcome of the election, according to AG William Barr himself today after releasing the findings of FBI and DoJ investigations into the allegation there was. Yet it's interesting that the ONLY case of a dead person voting is that of a Trumpturd cheating for Trump.

Trump always tips his hand at his own wrongdoings by outlandishly and unfoundedly accusing others of them. I took notice of this tell back in 2016 when he accused Democrats of rigging the election against him and then the Mueller Report came out and proved that it was he and his campaign in collusion with Russia who did that, dozens indicted and many sent to prison and still in prison for their involvement in that scheme, including Michael Cohen, Trump's personal lawyer, who has been convicted as an accessory to Trump's crimes. The only reason Trump hasn't been indicted is for the reason Mueller stated in the Mueller report that he couldn't recommend indictment of Trump, that reason being that a sitting US President is shielded from indictment by the US Constitution's executive privilege clause. Trump will soon no longer be shielded by that clause, which is why this past week he pardoned Michael Flynn, because Michael Flynn's testimony provided the most damning evidence against him and Trump wants to keep him from being charged by Biden's DoJ after he had his own DoJ drop charges, because Trump's afraid the DoJ will compel Michael Flynn to testify and corroborate the two statements he's already made under oath that implicate Trump in his crimes of election rigging, but since a defendant has the right to cross examine any accuser, those statements become inadmissible if Michael Flynn doesn't testify, so Trump is undertaking an overt abuse of authority of his office in order to silence a witness against him in a criminal indictment that include charges of election rigging and that is waiting for him the minute he's no longer President and so no longer shielded from it by the US Constitution.

The way it's "supposed" to work is that someone is to call/mail in the request for an absentee ballot each election.

IMO... There should not be an option to "always send an absentee ballot". This is where the fraud can originate.

I feel that a punishment for a fraudulent ballot like this should be ballots from the address are null/void AND felony election fraud charges for whomever sent it in. Charge all adults at that address with collusion.

Make the punishment serious enough, many will think twice about doing it.

You make a lot of unsubstantiated assumptions.

Senator Rick Scott proposed a bill requiring tighter standards for mail in voting. It would require mail in ballots to be requested 21 days before an election and completed and returned before polls close on Election Day. Mail in voters would have to confirm their identities and attest they are the person to whom the ballot is sent and will not vote in person. They would be prohibited from possessing another person’s ballot with some exceptions for family. Finally, all eligible ballots would have to be reported and counted within 24 hours after an election.

Most of this is already done in Florida. In regards to ballots being counted within 24 hours, most states count mail in ballots as they are received. Florida specifically requires mail in ballots to be received before polls close on Election Day. This year I hand delivered my ballot at an early voting site.

    1. Every state has their own rules concerning mail-in ballots, so the answer will vary by state.

    2. For those states which send mail-in ballots to all registered voters, there is already a process to ensure dead people don't get ballots.

    3. We all know this process is not 100% accurate which is why every state election board reviews every mail in ballot for accuracy and legitimacy.

    4. In cases where a mail-in ballot somehow makes it past this quality-control process, the state canvassing board performs a second check.

To answer your question, we can improve the accuracy of this process by providing more funding to state election and canvassing boards.

The only documented case of this going on so far in 2020 was a trump supporter who got caught.

My wife committed fraud in 2016. Changed my son's ballot to Trump.

The same way we stopped it in 2020, since it didn't happen then.
