Why does he feels like I'm stringing him along?

I randomly ran into my former high school. We have been in contact with each other "off and on" for two years. Yesterday I sent him a text and he called and told me that he feels like:

-I'm just stringing him along

-I'm not really interested in him

-I'm not being real with him

-The only reason why I contact  him is to play games

I really like him but I'm shy and don't want to get my feelings hurt. How do you think he really feels about me? Is his feelings hurt?

Oh well you'll never have him as a boyfriend then. No one here knows how he feels about anything!
