Why has Flash support been retired from nearly all the websites?

It was too vulnerable to hacks.
It requires permission to run and install whenever you visit a new site so most users don’t like having to grant permission every time. Our workplace used flash and I have to grant permission just to fill out my time sheet.
It’s not supported by mobile devices (at least for iPhones anyway), so I have to use a desktop or laptop to fill in my hours.

Adobe Flash Player had serious security problems and has been discontinued on ALL websites. Browsers no longer support Flash Player. Web based Videos have to use HTML-5.

Its a pain in the *** bit of software, and there are viable alternatives, so adobe is discontinuing the software at the end of the year
