Can a fast food restaurant be sued due to mental damage ?
If the person goes through depression and leading to things such as drinking and smoking, can they be held accountable? If they are causing extreme stress and are unfair?

As the saying goes, "you can sue anyone for anything". With that said, you won't be successful unless you can prove the restaurant was the sole reason for your mental health, and that they were negligent. That is a much higher standard than "unfair"

If you can prove the fast food restaurant is responsible and prove how you were damaged as a direct result, yes. If you can further prove they restaurant did so maliciously you can seek punitive damages.

Fast food restaurants have been sued for far less.
That said, it is IMPOSSIBLE for what you claim here to be true.

What does a fast food restaurant have to do with someone suffering from depression? The person's stress is likely traceable back to their depression, not the big mac they ate.
