Can you see Japan from China or vice versa?

    No, you cannot see Japan from China.

    No.  The Earth curves at around 8 inches per mile.  At sea level elevation, you can only see about 3 miles, and the Sea of Japan is much bigger than that.  A quick google says the narrowest part is about 27 miles.
