Oh! Medusa is real all right. How do you explain all those ancient statues?

As snakes growing out of the head is rather pointless, there is a good chance that these were not people but aliens with headgear. Remember, primitive people could only describe things using words and things they know. That is why a jet plane may be described as a giant silver bird that roared like a lion. There is a theory that all of these creatures were real. They could have been created by aliens to do work for them. A horse is strong and useful but imagine how useful a horse would be with an intelligent mind, hence the Centaur.

You really think a winged woman with snakes for hair and turned people to stone just by looking at them might have actually existed, you're far too young to post on this site.

Medusa is a figure from ancient Greek mythology.  She lived on an island not too far from the mainland, and anyone who looked at her face was instantly turned to stone.  She was killed by Perseus, who beheaded her in battle.  Perseus then used her severed head to defeat the kraken (who also didn't exist) and save a beautiful bimbo named Andromeda.  He then gave the severed head to the goddess Athena (people gave strange gifts back then), who placed it on her shield.

The closest thing you'll ever find to a real Medusa is an ugly woman with serious after-sex hair going on.

Medusa represents aliens who killed humans with their experiments. The turning to stones means to be death. Read between the lines.

The Gorgons were female monsters with hair make of serpents whose hideous appearance instantly petrified anyone gazing upon them. Since a person filled with this much fear could not help but continue to look, their bodies eventually turned to stone, (which is where the phrase 'petrified with fear' actually comes from).

A hero warrior named Perseus devised a way to defeat them by using a mirror while battling them. Medusa was the Gorgon who had captured the most beautiful of all human princesses named Andromeda. She was blind, which was why she was not vulnerable to Medusa's appearance. Her blindness also kept her humble because she could not see how beautiful she was.  Interestingly, Andromeda was an African princess.

Perseus approached Medusa backwards using the mirror and slew her before she could turn him into stone, liberating a grateful Andromeda. According to some versions, the gods restored Andromeda's sight but she remained humble anyway and she married Perseus, giving rise to a kingdom of noble African warriors who no other tribe could enslave or subdue.

According to the Greeks, their love story is forever commemorated in the stars above us where their formations can be viewed by everyone on earth.
