Depends on the child.  Some children would be bothered by that.  Others see it as part of their job and accept it.  Often they do not actual shave the head but use a bald cap to cover the hair.

Just like some adults would be very upset about having to shave their heads.  Others would not.

You may not know this, but not all children feel exactly the same about the things that happen to them.

Not sure about all of them, but I recall reading that when 12-year old Millie Bobby Brown had to shave her head for her role as Eleven on "Stranger Things" she thought it was "cool".... but her father burst into tears when the stylist began running the electric trimmer through her hair.

That rarely happens, but for girl actors, if they're required to look bald, the make-up department can always use a skull-cap to cover their hair.  Boy actors wouldn't mind so much, in general, if they really did shave their heads, but it's up to the individual actor.

No - they wouldn't be 'sad'.  They're actors!

there is a way to disguise it with a head mask. or they can demand more money for the sacrifice.
