Yep. Forcing yourself on others and jamming your agenda down their throats pretty much sums up not only the American way but the way of human-beings. It's a pity what we've become, isn't it?

It is called Colonization by Stealth Offering small Countries Big Rents for small spaces is enough to be granted a Military Base
and if you offend the USA you don't get Foreign aid

The Military bases we have overseas are at the invitation of the host country, not by force.

To protect its interests overseas and to maintain its political influence over other countries.
But whether those interests should be protected or not, that is another story.
By the way, many people in other countries may not like Americans, but they sure do love American dollars.

All of the US military bases/installations outside of those in combat zones are there at the mutual agreement of the local government and the US. Some have been been there since the end of WW 2 in 1945. Many others since the 1950's.
There always have been America haters ever since the Nazis went underground in May 1945. Others are opposed to American policy for ideological or monetary reasons.

Most countries welcome the security and economic benefits a military base offers. These bases operate under Status of Forces Agreements (SOFAs), which require a certain number of jobs be set aside for local people. Further, the people living on base often make better wages than the locals, and spend their money supporting the local economy. When a base closes, it inevitably trashes the local economy.
Granted, there are problems. A lot of young military members pull stupid crap, and on occasion, criminal acts.
