Princess Margaret was a wonderful woman until her Mother Ruined her Life and that for the man she Loved Group captain Townsend

the queen Mother was an evil sadistic woman her Husband died, and she blamed the Prince of Wales

she said she would never Curtsy to that women and then at the Funeral she did

when Townsend died Margaret went to Pieces all because of a selfish Mother

Margaret didn't chose to be a sponger. She loved the arts and would have probably studied hard to get a university degree and worked in a field not unlike what Eugenie has chosen to do. Under the same circumstances, many would drink themselves to death.

She was also the president or patron of numerous organizations, such as the West Indies Olympic Association, the Girl Guides,Northern Ballet Theatre,Birmingham Royal Ballet,Scottish Ballet,Children 1st,Tenovus Cancer Care,the Royal College of Nursing, and the London Lighthouse (an AIDS charity that has since merged with the Terrence Higgins Trust).

No more than any other 'spare' really.    She did a lot of charity work but in reality, not much else was expected of her.    It has been said she did sponge on others.
