My resting heart rate is 80, is there any way I can lower it?

I'm 16 years old, and I had a checkup a few days ago and my resting heart rate was 80bpm, I wasn't stressed, I weigh 178lbs and I'm 6'0. So I don't know if that's higher than normal and I should do something to lower it.

Any help will be appreciated

thanks!

  • Hi there! Sounds like your resting heart rate is healthy!! But if you want to lower it the best way I can think to do it is physical activity especially cardio. So try to exercise frequently. I suggest brisk walking or even running for 30 minutes a day. This should make a difference after about a month!

Normal heart rate is 60-100 bpm. You said you'd had a checkup just a few days ago, & your heart rated was 80, & you were stressed. Wasn't there anything said to you at the end of the checkup?
