How proud can you be setting a national record as the Youngest Poet To Recite At US Presidential Inauguration ?

Amanda Gorman is setting a record of becoming the youngest poet to recite at a presidential inauguration at 23.

The American poet and feminist Amanda Gorman is scheduled to become the sixth poet to appear at the 23rd presidential inauguration.

Born and raised in Los Angeles and studying sociology at Harvard, Gorman became the first national youth poet laureate in America in 2017. She will become the youngest poet to play for US President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris at the swearing-in on January 20.

It was President-elect Joe Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, who proposed her as his inaugural poet, according to US sources. Gorman, alongside Lady Gaga, who will sing the American national anthem, and Jennifer Lopez, will appear on Wednesday, January 20.

The Hill We Ascend, Gorman’s poem, would comment on, but not explicitly mention, the protests at the US Capitol last week.

Perhaps the oldest President ever elected needed to offset his own age with the youngest poet.
