While I don't know if it's essential against covid in particular, I do know that it's really good for you in general. I buy these vitamin C tablets that you put in water, let it dissolve and then drink it, and I haven't been sick in ages. It says to take them daily on the package, but I only do it maybe once or twice a month and it works great.
